1. What is OFFROADAIR systems SOURCE™? The SOURCE™ is a complete portable air system consisting of an aluminum cylinder of pressurized liquid CO2 which is released as a vapor through OFFROADAIR’s Hyper-FLO™ Regulators. Supplied with a 20 foot high quality COMP-FLEX™ hose, quick connects, tire ball chuck & trail worthy heavy duty mounting bracket. Nothing else is needed. The most complete & economic high quality CO2 air systems on the market today.
2. Why do I need OFFROADAIR system’s SOURCE™? The SOURCE™ is the offroader’s answer to portable air on the trail, out on the track, or even in the garage, addressing all the needs of on-board air; inflating tires, running air tools & blowing off parts can all be accomplished with SOURCE™. Its is the most economical, yet highest quality & simple to use CO2 air system available. Most important - Its lightweight, portable & FAST!
3. What makes OFFROADAIR system’s SOURCE™ the best option? The SOURCE™ has the equivalent speed & power of belt driven systems, but the portability & more economically priced 12 volt compressors. The SOURCE™ can air up tires fast, remove lug nuts fast, repair drive train & suspension systems quick with impact tools, even in hard to get to situations because its portable. The SOURCE™ can reseat a tire while still on the vehicle & air up 33” truck tires in less than one minute. Nobody can beat the SOURCE™ at any price!
The SOURCE™ is a high powered - high energy CO2 air system. CO2 is filled as a liquid and evaporates to gas (air) through the regulator and out the hose to the tire. As more gas is consumed, more liquid evaporates into gas, generating more pressure. This process allows much more volume than other commonly used nitrogen tanks, shop air tanks & scuba tanks.
5. Does the pressure drop as the SOURCE™ depletes? Absolutely not. The SOURCE™uses the evaporated liquid CO2. As long as there is liquid remaining, your tank will have full pressure.
6. How does the SOURCE™ compare to a 5 gallon compressed air tank? The OA-TANK10YL is less than half the size of a 5 gallon compressed air tank but holds 20 times the capacity. A 5 gallon air tank pressurized to 125PSI will inflate two 33X12.50x15 truck tires from 10-20PSI. The OA-TANK10YL will inflate thirty nine (39) tires the same size, taking only 30 seconds a tire! See chart for air up times, comparing tires size vs. pressure.
7. How safe is OFFROADAIR SOURCE™ system? Every component in the SOURCE™ system is professional quality & heavy duty utilizing only the strongest materials. All system’s are built safe. The lightweight cylinder is manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum with a service pressure of 1800PSI and a safety burst mechanism of 3000PSI. The safety is designed to “let go” when cylinder is introduced to extreme heat, fire or overfill. This safety factor is very high when considering CO2 @ room temperature is 700-800PSI. The valve protection carry handle has dual purposes; manufactured from high impact materials protecting the on/off valve and also making the SOURCE™ easy to move. Please Note: Use precaution & common sense when ever using, handling high pressure gases and equipment.
8. Why CO2 instead of air or nitrogen? The SOURCE™ stores CO2 in liquid form which results in air output that is 10 time the volume of nitrogen or compressed air. This means you are storing several nitrogen tanks in one using the SOURCE™ system.
9. Is CO2 gas safe on my equipment? CO2 is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and totally inert. This means its safe on your air tools, tires & metal wheels. The thermal expansion is similar to air once released from the tank.
10. How can the SOURCE™ be mounted? Mount the SOURCE™ in any position. The brackets are drilled on the base & back plates to permit many options. However, note the SOURCE™ must be at least 30 degrees upright angle to work correctly. Its recommended that you mount in a vertical position to limit unnecessary handling before use.
11. How do I get the SOURCE™ filled? Most local welding supply, fire extinguisher, beverage & paintball supply stores will get your SOURCE™ back on the trail. Be sure the store doesn’t offer an exchange program because you don’t want some old beat tank back! The average cost is $10.00 to $12.00 per fill. See our Find a CO2 Supplier Page for more information.
12. What is OffRoadAir’s SOURCE™ warranty? All SOURCE™ systems are covered by a TWO YEAR free replacement/repair warranty on any manufacturer defective component. We stand strong behind the SOURCE™! We know it’s durable, won’t burn up, seize up & needs minimal maintenance. Just Keep It Clean!
Please Note: Whenever handling high pressure gas equipment, you must take precautions and practice common sense. Please read all manuals/safety rules before using the source.
