Instead of flat plates used in traditional batteries, OPTIMA uses
two thin lead plates wound into a spiral cell with a glass-mat
between to contain the acid. The technique of winding the

RedTop vs. YellowTop which one will work for you?

RedTop (Starting) Batteries
Are ideal for any vehicle or equipment that will use the battery only for Starting, Lighting, & Ignition requirements. With a properly working alternator, the OPTIMA RedTop Starting Batteries will perform extremely well, often providing up to two times longer life than conventional batteries. If the vehicle has few or no after-market accessories and uses a stock or upgraded alternator, the OPTIMA RedTop Starting Battery will offer years of sure starts. Also, should RedTop battery ever need to be recharged, it will accept a charge faster than a regular battery.

YellowTop (Deep Cycle) Batteries

Provide constant performance quality as they are discharging. Even as energy is being drained, your equipment will perform at the same level as when the battery was fully charged. Meaning, you will not hear or feel your equipment slow down or strain for power. This makes the YellowTop batteries best suited for starting applications in high-accessory vehicles/High Cycling Applications. Vehicles with computers, extra radios, electronic components, lights, winches, etc. will create excessive amperage drain that can damage a starting battery. The YellowTop is recommend to provide fast recharging and longer life due to its' ability to cycle over 300 times.
