SNATCH STRAPS

A snatch strap is one of the most essential and used piece of off-road recovery equipment.

Specifically designed to stretch under load for maximum performance, the ARB snatch straps provide a very effective method of extracting a bogged or immobilized 4WD  vehicle, when a second vehicle is present.

The ARB snatch strap functions similar to a big rubber band between two vehicles. It operates on the Kenetic energy created when the snatch strap is tugged (stretched) by one vehicle to free the stuck vehicle.

The benefit of an ARB snatch strap becomes evident when recovering a vehicle bogged in mud, sand or any other thick stuff where the snatch strap can help free the stuck truck with minimal strain on the recovery vehicle and without overloading a winch.    

ARB snatch straps are woven and fabricated in Australia, and tested by a NATA approved laboratory.

The 17,500LB (ARB705) model is recommended for most 4WD vehicles, with the 24,000 & 33,000 LB straps better suited to heavier applications.

With an ARB X-Jack, simply place the unit on the ground beneath the side of the vehicle to be raised and connect the hose to your tailpipe. When the engine is started, the jack inflates. Mud, sand and snow, can render a conventional jack ineffective. The X-Jack exhaust jack offers a wider footprint to avoid sinking and uses specially designed, triangular shaped feet to keep the unit firmly grounded. The unit is designed to be safely placed under the side of the body rather than positioned under an axle.

A solid hard plate integrated in to the top of the X-Jack along with additional side curtains offer maximum protection against punctures. The X-Jack also has a secondary inflation point for use with a 12 volt compressor and for maximum speed, the compressor and the exhaust hose can be connected at the same time! ARB Snatch Block

ARB snatch blocks feature side plates that sit snug against the pulley, eliminating the possibility of the winch cable becoming trapped between the pulley and side plates. The groove on the pulley tapers down to the centre allowing for a variety of cable sizes (6-12mm), and ensures the cable is seated securely in the pulley, minimizing lateral movement. To ensure smooth pulley operation, the hardened steel pin is fitted with a nipple, to which grease can be periodically applied. Also, The ARB Snatch block has no sharp edges and the pulley is made of machined solid billet (not cast) which means it is smooth and free of burrs, so it is 100% safe for use with any Synthetic Winch line.

The ARB snatch block increases the effectiveness of a vehicle mounted or portable winch as it enables you to retrieve loads that are double the winch’s capacity by reducing the load on the winch by half, and facilitates winching from varying angles when straight ahead isn’t the best option.

ARB Bow Shackles

Complete your recovery kit with these galvanized rated clevis D-shackles (also known as bow shackles). They provide a means for connecting the looped ends of cables, straps and snatch blocks. The shackle's pin diameter is available in 5/8, 3/4, or 1"  and is threaded to allow easy removal.

Designed to carry a complete recovery kit including: a snatch strap, tree trunk protector, winch extension strap, snatch block, recovery damper, shackles and gloves.

The ARB Recovery Bag features heavy duty 100% water resistance polyurethane coated cotton canvas. Constructed with reinforced webbing taped seams, a fitted rubber base for durability and reflective tape trim for safety. A padded shoulder strap and a molded rubber handle allow for comfortable and easy transportation.

The main removable pocket is waterproof  to store wet and dirty recovery gear without soaking all your tools and can be easily removed for a quick clean-up.
